UPDATE 5/28/22:
As we approach the last week of school we wanted to give some instructions for our upcoming Field Trip on May 31st.
1. Class shirts will be distributed on Thursday/Friday in Homeroom class. Shirts will be required while attending the field trip and everyone that is going on the trip had one class shirt included so they will receive that later this week.
2. Students will arrive at their normal time and location on Tuesday, they will go to their Homeroom class for attendance and then we will have bus locations posted for where they will go after we take attendance. We will also post which bus students are on in the 8th grade hallways on Friday, May 27th. If you are a parent chaperoning the trip your location will be emailed to you so you know where to go.
3. Students will have one of two options for lunches, first they can pack their own lunch and that lunch will be packed under the bus. Lunches should have a way to remain cool for a few hours. We will eat lunch between 11:30 and 1:30 at the Whitewater Center. All details will be given to each bus as it is a custom time based on their rafting time. The second way they can get lunch is they will pick up a bagged lunch through the cafeteria. We will have a way to keep these lunches cool if needed. Students will have the opportunity to purchase additional snacks and drinks if needed through the Whitewater Center.
4. Students should pack sunscreen, possibly a hat, and wear comfortable clothing. Remember that the class shirt will be worn by everyone. Students should also make sure they pack close-toed shoes for rafting and the other activities. Students may want to pack flip flops for our return home and they would just keep those on the bus. Buses generally will be locked and safe to leave things on as the drivers will be locking the buses when we leave.
5. Students signed up in groups of 10 with their parent chaperone and some groups may have up to 20 if two parents are chaperoning that group. Students will have access to their cell phones but some of the activities students may have their devices put in storage if they are on the water. Any vital information will be relayed through Connect Ed if needed.
